Are you tired of the photo day chaos of parents handing in orders at the last minute, needing change or the usual ‘I left my order on the kitchen bench’. We remove all the stress as all our ordering is placed online. For family photos it is online before photo day to pre order. For individual/class groups images all orders are placed after photo day.
Try to book you school photos on a day that has no or minimal other disruptions. Avoid a day where a sporting team or class must leave early or has a special event occurring. Photo day creates enough change to the normal day for some children, this can stress them out so achieving beautiful photos can be difficult.
Our process is very different to other companies, and this can cause confusion to some parents/caregivers. About 4 weeks before photo day we provide all schools with a letter that can be sent out explaining the process. Adding this to parent portals and newsletters regularly may help prevent the last minute panicking phone calls on photo day.
Have a schedule. We recommend starting with the youngest year group first and working up. In Primary schools this is very important, Kindergarten and infants children need to be photographed before a break time as they can look very untidy afterwards and need a lot of help from staff to get hair, shirts and ties straight again.
We also recommend arranging a runner or 2, someone responsible that we can call on to request the next class or call up students for family photos. This helps to keep things moving if we are running ahead of schedule.
We can prevent unnecessary stress to some children, if we are aware of the situation before trying to take their photo. We don’t need to know the details but a quiet word to one of our staff can prevent stress.
